Video attachments

Attach an existing video or screen recording to a companion app bug report, from your gallery or the share sheet.

Use a companion app release with video attachment support. Existing store releases may offer images only; update the app when a compatible release is available.

Choose or share a video

Start a report in the companion app and use its attachment picker to choose images and videos together. You can also share a video, screen recording or mixed selection from another app to BugScreen. If the app cannot open from the share sheet, open BugScreen to continue with the saved attachments.

Images and videos share four attachment slots. A report can contain only videos. BugScreen explains when a shared selection exceeds the available slots or an attachment cannot be read.

Preparation and limits

Choose an existing MP4 or MOV file. BugScreen prepares a playable MP4 on your device, preserving the full clip, orientation and any existing audio. Processing cards show each clip while it is being prepared; wait for preparation to finish before submitting.

File size and duration limits apply. The original recording can be larger than the prepared upload. If preparation or validation fails, the report explains the problem so you can choose another clip or remove it. BugScreen does not record video or microphone audio for you.

Preview and remove

Tap a video thumbnail to open the preview. Use play, pause and seek to check the clip, swipe between attachments, or remove an attachment. Playback stops when you leave the video or close the preview.

Markup and redaction are available for images only. Videos cannot be marked up, trimmed or redacted in BugScreen, so review them for sensitive information before sending.

Submit and recover

If uploading fails, your report stays available for you to retry or remove the affected video. BugScreen does not submit a report with a failed video silently missing. If your device is disconnected, reconnect it before starting another report.

Accepted videos appear in the private Report Inbox. Connected trackers follow their attachment support; where a native video upload is unavailable, the issue may link to the authenticated Inbox report. Slack notifications do not upload video files. Access and retention follow the report and destination tool.
